Umbria, Gubbio Umbria’s rolling hills are covered with lush elm and chestnut trees and river valleys. The beautiful medieval village of Assisi is a Christian mecca, famous as the birthplace of St. Clare and St. Francis, whose spiritual light influenced the world.
